Brian Macmillan
Golf Course Superintendent
Brian grew up locally in Wading River and found his passion for maintaining golf courses during a high school summer job. Enjoying working outdoors and the satisfying results of a grow in at then newly constructed Great Rock Golf Club led him to pursue a career in golf course maintenance.
Brian started his collegiate academic journey by obtaining an Associate’s degree in Turf Management while playing soccer at SUNY Delhi. He went on to complete his Bachelor of Science degree in Turfgrass at Clemson University. The technical approach at Delhi coupled with a more scientific philosophy at Clemson prepared him with a perfect mix of knowledge for what was needed to succeed moving forward.
This is Brian’s second head Superintendent position. He spent twelve years at nearby Port Jefferson Country Club gaining meaningful experience through an irrigation system installation, construction of a maintenance facility, and completion of major course renovations. Prior to Port Jeff, Brian grew in the industry as an Assistant Superintendent at Engineers Country Club and right here at St. George’s.
Brian was drawn back to St. Georges due to its engaging membership and course history. He sees great things ahead for the club. “The sky is the limit on how good this place can be. As we move forward and complete key infrastructure projects, the resulting efficiency will lead to top notch course conditioning. The history here is second to none and I believe we can add to its standing.”
Brian resides in Miller Place with his wife Dana, daughter Ella, and son Owen. He is a Clemson sports fanatic who enjoys playing golf and downhill skiing. Watching his kids participate in sports and excel in the classroom is what he enjoys most when not at the golf course.

Tom Fuellert
Assistant Golf Course Superintendent
Tom grew up in Toronto, Canada, where hockey is life. After injuries forced him to give up on his dream of playing for the Toronto Maple Leafs, he turned to golf to continue his competitive endeavors. His competitive nature and interest in golf course setups were a perfect match for turf maintenance.
Tom previously worked at several high end courses including the Royal St Kitts Golf Club on the tiny island of St Kitts, and the Greg Norman designed Blue Tip Golf Club at the Ritz Carlton resort Grand Cayman.
While in the Caribbean, Tom met his wife Felicia while she was attending a veterinary school in St Kitts.
Tom spent the last 8 years working with our superintendent, Brian Macmillan at the Port Jefferson Country Club. Drastically improving the playing conditions.
Tom’s wife Felicia is a veterinarian who owns a local practice. They have 2 beautiful daughters, Sydney aged 6, and Shaelyn aged 3.
Tom is extremely excited about the opportunity to be part of St. George’s and its storied history.
